|
|
Hi there!
I got myself a Minilogue XD today, and I noticed MIDI sync problems with my other gear (specifically, the ARP gets out of sync significantly at around 1 beat every 4 bars at 72BPM).
So I decided to update the firmware. Given that I only run Linux OSes, I installed a Windows 10 on my computer and got the update done. The update said it was complete, and I turned the Minilogue XD off and back on.
Now, every single time I turn on the Minilogue XD, it says where it used to auto-tune:
Code: |
Update required
Panel 1.01
Voice 1.01
|
It takes about the same amount of time as it took before to do the tuning and then it's fully on and functional. It kind of feels like the update isn't persisted and it has to do it every time. Weird.
Now the reason why I'm writing this: before the update, I had something turned on in the "General Settings" allowing to see "ALL" parameter values when turning knobs. Now, I'm pretty sure there's a serious bug with this - because the name of the knob I'm turning is displayed aligned left like before, but the value just doesn't show up. I can tell it's a bug, because when the value would reach a 3-digits number while it was a 2 digits number, the name of the parameters slightly moves to make space, but there's still no value displayed...
With that in mind, I decided to retry the update - I used the Windows software updater again but this time I checked "Skip version check". The update said "completed" but shortly after the Minilogue XD displayed "Data format err".
Am I the only one facing this? I'd like to know because if my unit is defective I'd like to exchange it quickly.
Thanks!

There's an Acrobat file included with the update and it tells you what to do when an update to the panel/voice is needed as well as the firmware. Can't remember the instructions offhand but it's another power-up and hold button type thing. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/WilyEPeyote |

Good evening @Softroom and thanks for taking the time. It actually solved the problem!
I found the PDF you mentioned - I missed it initially because I didn't have a PDF viewer installed on the Windows operating system so the icon was showing up as an unknown file... After following the instructions, it worked. Now the Minilogue XD boots straight into tunning mode and functions normally, including the display of the values when I turn the knobs.
For those interested:
- If a Panel Update is required, turn off your Minilogue XD and power it back on while holding Seq. 14, Rec and Rest. Beware that the update is completely silent, the screen stays dark and the lights don't turn on - but let it happen! It took maybe 15 seconds for me.
- If a Voice Update is required, turn off your Minilogue XD and power it back on while holding Seq. 13, Rec and Rest. The Minilogue XD will inform you of the progress including the erasing process of the memory.
In my case, doing these two things didn't erase anything - all my presets are still here.
Thanks again @Softroom! |
