Hi all

I really hoping I might be to get some advice about my broken Kronos.

Basically I was getting the following message "A problem has been detected please power off and wait for 10 seconds before turning on"

At my last gig (outdoors in Mexico where the power supply is possibly dodgy) I got this message multiple times and then the keyboard would only turn on for a few seconds.

After buying a UPS the problem seemed to be solved for a while but now Im back to where I was and the machine won't turn on for more than a few seconds before it powers off with no warning message.

Looking for advice as to my next move (either trying to fix or finding someone else who can).

Many Thanks

Rich

Out of warranty? Any authorized repair shops in your area? Which model do you have? How old is it? did you buy it new? If you are going to open it up, check all the connectors, re-seat the RAM, check the SSD cables and connections. inspect mechanical connections like screws and/or bolts that secure the PC boards.

Many thanks for the tips.

Went the lazy route and found a repair guy to help me. It was a loose connection which he thought was caused by the humidity here in the climate (Im living in the Mexican jungle and gigging a lot outdoors.

People gigging in tropical climates beware!

Getting professional help isn't necessarily lazy. You wouldn't do your own open heart surgery, would you? If you gig a lot, it could from vibrations in your vehicle. I have had my keyboard stand arrive at a gig with several screws backed ak the way out. I could see a humid climate causing corrosion. But mechanical connections? That's a new one.
