I haven't heard much about MIDI 2.0 lately. Still relevant or not? I am not aware of any new keyboard released in the past 2 years that supports it.

Hah - to achieve full resolution, yes!

It may be true "If you build, it they will come." It may not be true "If you spec it, they will build it."

MIDI 2.0 to me feels less like a Musical specification and more like an Internet-Of-Things specification for network and data protocols involving bidirectional communications, device discovery, identifying what's connected to what, and exchanging properties about what each device can do. I think most studios are more deterministic in their setup, with a DAW or master keyboard controlling and managing configurations.

Perhaps MIDI 2.0 is a solution in search of a problem, and most manufacturers and users don't see a need for it - at least not yet.
