|
|
I use my Kronos with FL Studio and one of the common tasks I find myself doing is going to Global and then midi tab and turning off the check box for local control.
I'm new to kronos and was wondering if it is possible to create a slot in playlist called "FL Studio" and have the local control setting turned off. This way I could just make the swith from the playlist slot. any thoughts or alternative suggestions?
Thanks, William |

that's a tough one. I am not finding a midi cc for local off/on
The solution might be in FL, where it can filter .
Sorry, I don't know the app- it is a popular app, _________________ Kronos 88. MODX8

Below you have 2 SysEx files zipped ( Local OFF and Local On )
https://www12.zippyshare.com/v/Ia7e72Mx/file.html
Open files in any text editor to see the content, or if you want to COPY/PASTE manually, or simply import SysEx to FL Studio.
Refer to "KORG Proprietary System Exclusive Messages For KRONOS" and " Kronos MIDI Implementation " documentations,if you want to construct any message. It looks scary at first, but it is actually very easy. |

..so how does that work can you explain what this would do? I assume this would turn off or on control from Fl when the software was loaded and would have nothing to do with the setlist feature. Would that be any more efficient than turning it off manually on the kronos? |

You won’t be able to turn on/off LOCAL with SetLists.
Because SetLists organise your PROG, COMBI and Songs only.
There is a possibility that you can do it within SEQ by injecting SysEx, but I cannot tell you how to do it ( or if you can at all ), as I am DAW centric, not Kronos’ SEQ.
SysEx messages can be send to Kronos with:
Windows OS -> MIDI-OX ( http://www.midiox.com/ )
macOS -> SysEx Librarian ( https://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/ )
Download one of those tools, load SysEx file ( ON or OFF ), switch Kronos to GLOBALS and watch how you can remotely turn ON/Off local.
You can do the same within DAW, simply by importing SysEx into track, or inserting manually. I do very often in my Logic Pro X, in fact each my song has some SysEx messages.
And you can do it from external MIDI controller if such unit has ability to do so.
I have just tried to grab some link regarding how to do it in Fl Studio,
and it seems that Fl Studio does not support SysEx ( ??? what ?? ) If it’s the case I would not use this DAW. Seek help from FL Studio forum. |

When you send Local on/off SysEx, the state of LOCAL is simply automated.
It's all up to you, what's your workflow, personally I do NOT have any need to remotely or automatically control the status of LOCAL. |
