|
|
Getting a message that there is no Midi in when I start the editor so cant communicate with the Kronos. I have tried re-installing the drivers and the editor but to no avail. I am using Kronos vers 3.1.2 and the editor 3.1 and the latest Midi drivers. Although the installing kronos screen pops up every so often. Midi in and out is working fine through my DAW.
Please can anyone help as most annoying!! |

I found I have to open the Editor first, with the Midi (usb) cable disconnected. I just accept the error message -there is no midi. Afterwards, I connect the cable and the Kronos ports appear available to be selected by the Editor. |

Hmm, the Editor software just works here. Check the USB cable and ensure it is firmly seated in the square USB-B port on the back of the Kronos. The insertion of this connector can be a bit clunky. When the connector is fully inserted, there should be about 2-3mm of the USB-B plug metal part showing. I get a first "click", that could be mistaken for the plug being in correctly inserted, with the plug still some way out. I take it the VST host is not running at the time, or are you using the plug-in?

If using USB also check the midi tab in GLOBAL to make sure USB is selected. |

When you mention “on my PC”, I assume you use Windows OS (?)
it’s most likely that your REGISTRY is unhealthy.
Here are my suggestions:
When you uninstall Software, use 3rd party Uninstaller ( like Revo Uninstaller Pro, my favourite ), instead default Windows mechanism. Such tool let you clean REGISTRY entries associated to software you’re removing.
That way there are no leftover entries ( some are invalid that slow your PC, or even worse )
- Backup the REGISTRY
- You could search for entries of Kronos Editor, and delete them manually
- Run Repair Registry Utility ( like Reg Organizer, my favourite )
- reboot PC.
I am Mac user, and I do use Windows as much as Mac , however not for AUDIO. |
