I made some changes to a Songbook style entry (and changed the name slightly before saving, so I had Entry 1 and Entry 2).

On saving, I got a warning that the file already existed (which I knew was not possible given the unique new name I used), but said YES to overwrite.

So... I actually ended up with Entry1 and Entry 2 as expected. BUT , on checking, they both had the same Korg song number which is worrying as ‘Songbook save’ usually checks for that.

Not a big deal (because I ended up deleting the entry I didn’t need), but now I wonder if I have other entries which have duplicate Song numbers.

For info.

Couldn't change the song number on one of them ?
This is a reason sometimes for pa4x restart issues my guess.
Also,on older Os' versions it was ok when having the same name on entries as long as they had different extension (.mid , .mp3 , .sty ) .
This no longer supported, all entries have to use unique names to avoid problems.

Hi Korg1,

Yes, you are correct, you can just change the Song number for one entry as you have suggested. For me, the real issue though was the fact that in this case the OS allowed two style Songbook entries to share the same number.

I will have to review my Songbook to make sure that no other duplicates have crept in.

Yeah,
I hadn't notice it either till restart problems started,
so i removed all song numbers, and renamed all entries under the same name (which had different extension).

Now only bugs in songbook are while editing a setlist.
