I'm liking this Kaossilator app. It's a different beast from either battery hardware model, but after 1 hours play I took to it.
No arp . No overdub ,just replace - so essentially 5 mono banks of midi. No erase note and the mute / solo could be implemented better - but all the improvements, additions I really like.
The sounds themselves are a great collection, I prefer them to the 150 from the KO2 and the pattern sizes are well better.
I also like the fast save and the mixing of previous pattern ,especially the template - so use an old tempo and scale over new patterns.
Ace for free Very Happy

I don't have a hardware version of the Kaossilators, so I can't compare it to either. But it's an entirely different way of making music than with an analog synth; there's so much to explore. And with all the sounds available, it's tempting to go completely overboard and end up with an amorphous wall of sound. As with everything else, it probably takes a bit of time to get the best out of it. But all in all, there's a lot of fun to be had..

Hi Synthpeter glad you are liking it.
Play with the quantise setting on the tempo button
And also change pattern lengths if you are not already (I'm sure you are Smile ).
I also like saving a pattern a few times with changes to the lead or bass ,then play with the loop mixing page.
As just a synth to record into something else its really powerful 🤪

Really powerful indeed, although what I have to get used to is that what comes out is less directed than with a more traditional synth. It's not like when you have a particular sound or sequence in your head, you play it on a keyboard and it sounds like you intended. But even though what comes out is more happenstance than intentional, it does inspire with all those unexpected lead lines and mixes of pattern lengths..

Yes it comes out with loops that I wouldn't have written normally, but sometimes which I had.
I'm not a conventional keyboard player and I'm guessing you are ,which makes this even more different than what you are use to. Great you are embracing it.
I can recommend the original Kaossilator (over the 2) ,its a lot of fun with more traditional synth sounds (no samples) that feel very well thought out as a whole. Plus there is a 4 bar hack that the 2 doesn't have. It's just so simple ,but has arp plus overdub infinite ..I digress.
