if you haven't done this, disconnect your K from all other midi devices.

also disconnect all pedals- and see if you can reproduce the unwanted sound

UPDATE: The issue has been solved! (I think)

After having no luck from my local repairman and Korg support, I let my friend who is a synth genius take a look. In what seemed like no time at all, he isolated the mystery noise in the EX2 of the "Faithfully Piano". We were able to see the noise happen visually on the meter. Apparently, the EX2 (a very soft, and unnecessary pad) was aliasing as it went lower on the keyboard. After turning it off, there was no more of the horrid noise.

I have actually not been able to detect the noise on any other patch, though if I did, I would at least likely be able to "fix" it.

I wonder if anyone else has this aliasing on their "Faithfully Piano", or if there could be a defect specific to my board? Nevertheless, I am breathing a sigh of relief today, and falling in love with my Kronos all over again.

Since I deleted this program quite a while ago along with many others, I tested it loading it from the factory PCG. No problem or aliasing on my Kronos for that program. What I hear while playing lower keys with EX2 alone is simply a low-pitch and tiny bit rough sounding waveform at a very soft volume. Aliasing most often happens at high frequencies.

FYI, faithfully is the German Grand with the MOD-7.

The only culprit on my K88 is A#1. That key or note has audible harmonics or artifact, if that's what its called.

I also A vs B tested the program in SEQ mode.

My B version of the Program has no extra FX or its 'dry'.

As I expected, that mostly removed the additional harmonics.

If A#1 is really annoying for the Program, I could do a workaround. Bring in 2 programs into a Combi, do some zone mapping and fuss with FX on the lower octave.

I find it unusual for a new K2 to suddenly sprout a serious audio problem
on a new K2.
