Am I correct in assuming that there is NOT a way to do multitrack recording on the PA700 via MIDI?

I perused the manual quite a bit and cannot find any information about it.

I am trying to get some older MIDI files from my Ensoniq VFX-SD and since it is not GM, I cannot move the sequences over like we can on the GM stuff that is DOS compatible for switching between floppies and SD cards.

I know that I have to switch the MIDI Clock to external and have brought over a file, track by track, from the VFX-SD to the PA700.

I am just wondering if I am missing a setting on the PA700 that allows for multitrack recording.

If there is not, which I believe is to be true, then I will simply have to go track by track for every song I want to bring over.

I hope that everyone had a music-filled Christmas holiday. I know, for me, I got a remote controlled vehicle (which is a hobby of mine), as well as being able to order the Yamaha Reface CP (electric piano) and the Reface YC (clonewheel organ). Those two devices should be here tomorrow to add to my live rig Smile

Grace,
Harry

Thank you, but this has nothing to do with what I am trying to do.

I am trying to do a multitrack recording, via MIDI, from another keyboard, and not from a computer.

I am not using a computer for this operation. I have sequences from another keyboard that I am porting over to the PA700. Right now, I am doing it track by track, because I cannot determine the way to do a multi-track recording option on the PA700.

I do not think that there is a way, but I thought that I would pose the query to the forum anyway.

Grace,
Harry
