Hi, I'm a Korg forum virgin so be gentle with me.
I just came to turn on my X3 and can not get any sound to output on left, right or headphone jack. I have checked the volume slider is up and also checked under Global, 3 a, b etc. this is set to on and all.
I have power, the screen scrolls through all the sounds and everything can me controlled from a second keyboard as you would expect. The x3 also works fine as a controller of other keyboards over midi just as you would expect it to.
Knowing very little about electronics but hungry to learn, are there any other things I should be checking? I have the bottom removed and looked to see if there is anything obvious like bulging capacitors, loose connectors, etc.
Does the output go through a pre-amp which I should be checking maybe?
Any guidance gratefully received thank you. |

Hello! Did you get this fixed? If not I was wondering about having you check the "local control" option. Make sure it's turned on. If it's set to off then the keyboard won't function as normally expected but you can still trigger sounds via external MIDI devices as you reported.
If you don't have a manual in order to find your local control settings you can download from KORG directly at this link:

Hope this fix might help you. The X3 looks like a great synth! |
