Hello. I have a Korg Krome 88 and have an education in classic piano and muscial theory and notation.

My question is what software would be better and easier for me to use. I've been planing to do plethora of music arrangements, from symphonical to electro and I want to do things from scratch with the software such as drum patterns or strings, and be helped with the Krome.

I know of Sibelius which is an anonatation program, but I don'0t know if I can use for things like electronic. I want to learn something like VL Studio or Ableton, but I have to learn from scratch and want to choose one.

Thanks.

If you want to do loop based stuff, Ableton and FL Studio are good. If you're planning more linear arrangement and recording, I'd sooner go with something like Sonar, Cubase or Logic. If score based view is important to you I think Cubase is a good choice, although none of the major DAWs can touch the score editing of Sibelius or Finale. If you plan to compose via writing score, you could use Rewire to open Sibelius/Finale "inside of" Cubase or Sonar.

I use Ableton and Sonar ,,Ableton is great, tho has no hint of notation view and seem to have no intention of adding it,, it recently added a Capture button that if you are like so many people turn on inspired and play away with no thought of recording it will Capture what you just played long as track was in standby ,,,makes me giggle every time,, Sonar is all that has modern music and STAFF view ,that I could find ,thats why I got it ,,to re-learn reading sadly,,After being taken over by what appears to be Money trying to get into Staff view is not so good, editing has no flow , it only available in own view ,has lyric line not so workable ,,in brief ,I forumed ,,,request update,,,scrolling Staff view in track screen with clear lyric line plus melody view for working live as read back and quick cliq between staff and midi display ,as edit in midi is useful , it's all to rok-en-roll ,, even old classic hits are still printed in staff view with lyrics ,yet no modern software does it that I can find ,maybe next life 'll hav'it Jon
