The Monologue is ok for 200$ but the sound quality is a long ways from professional synths..I have mine hooked up to Cubase and my interface
....I notice the audio in port and was wondering if anyone has found a peripheral of some kind that added good sounds, or added functionality
or just enhanced the sound that comes out of the monologue....
maybe a module or anything.....I do have a Boss GT1 fx box...could I run that into the Monologue and get anything good out of doing that???
any suggestions appreciated...

I'm not sure I understand why the Monologue sound quality should be a long ways from professional synths..

Maybe you feel that way because of the built-in presets.. These appear to have been selected more to show off the features of the Monologue than to focus on use in your music.

As for the Audio in input, that's intended to use the Monologue itself as an effect; audio in passes through the filter (cutoff, resonance) and amp (drive) and is affected by anything that influences these (e.g. motion sequencing or LFO).

I’ve managed to create some very warm patches, which seem quite high end quality wise. These would be sounds in the classic Tonto/Stevie Wonder/Zawinul area. Firstly, I think the factory patches, although contemporary, are all quite bright and often a little harsh. Dialling down the filter to around 10 o’clock, with env amount at 12, seems to hit a sweet spot. I feel the synth loses bottom end when the drive is engaged. The shape dials are worth exploring too. I think synths are loaded with patches with a perceived market in mind; dance music mostly. So the subtle tones are not often present. But by turning down any overdrive or fx and dialling things down generally; the quality often hidden within can reveal its self. My old Electribe EA1 is a revelation in this respect.
