volca sample 1 or 2?

Post by coconutter »

Hello! I've been thinking to buy a cheap sampler, so because I've been happy with my other Korg products, I am now thinking between Volca Sample 1 or 2...

Does 1 have something good what 2 doesn't have?
I imagine to use the sampler with own sound samples... is it possible with both versions? (2 has more memory of course)
Both have similar sequencer? Does 2 have more "effects" to modify the sound? etc.

Any ideas, adviced etc please help me to see :)

Compared with the original, Sample2 loses nothing but adds more memory, twice as many save slots, and USB sample transfer.

Well, it does lose song mode, which I tend to use a lot on my Sample v1.

Also, the custom Volca Sample firmware created by pajen only works on the Sample 1, not the Sample 2, if that's important to you.

You can now set MIDI channels separately to play from a pad controller, or combined like the VS1.

USB to load samples.

200 sample slots.

You can still use VOSYR, just change the files to .wav but only 100 slots will be filled. Bright side is that 100 slots can have double the sample time.

I go for the VS2. Even at its current raise in price, its a bargain.
