|
|
When i look at the current gear lines from the major companies, there is quite a few of them up for an updated version (excluding analogue gear)
Korg Kronos, Pa4x
Roland Fa series, ea7, RD2000
Yamaha Montage, CP1 (dual keybed version of the YC)
Nord Stage 3, C2D
Kurzweil Forte
Kawai MP7se and MP11se
The question is what will 2022 bring us? _________________ Korg Kronos 2/88 , Genos, Mainstage3 +VSTsu, ipad pro, GSi Gemini, Roland Integra 7, Jupiter Xm, Yamaha motif XS rack, Ketron SD90.

|
|
Yeah I've been wondering the same thing. It's mid-December and there hasn't been a word about new gear for 2022 from Korg or most other major brands. Maybe they're not making any announcements because of the global situation--COVID, chips, supply chain? shipping?
The much beloved (and maligned) MicroKorg is 20 years old in 2022. You would think Korg would put out a 20th Anniv. edition, like the 10th and 15th Anniv. editions. Maybe a new color scheme plus USB? How about a VST version for Korg's Legacy Collection?
Hopefully by Jan there will be some news...

Not quite true; Casio is teasing something, apparently based on their AIX sound system.
A sound module, perhaps? |

I think the market would welcome a new sound module to compete with the long-in-the-tooth Roland Integra that's been commanding a very high retail price for a decade with almost no competition.
Isn't this really what we're buying in a new keyboard - the proprietary and well-guarded registered copy-protected sounds housed inside a rectangular box? Just put it in a sound module and save us the space. _________________ bpoodoo

Up to a point. It's a part of the mix. The sequencer, effects and so on are also in there.
But if Casio were to put out a desktop Integra-competitor with a few knobs and good usability, and especially some sort of spacialisation, it would be very difficult to say no!
Especially at Casio prices compared to the Integra-7's silly price. |

I'd love to myself. I already have a couple of others, but I'm not in a position to back it up with USB-C, so it's more of a pipe dream for me right now. |

yep, looks like a change of colors for the 20th edition of the MicroKorg mk1. That's about all we got to look forward to. Seems Korg's philosophy has always been 'It's a classic; if it sells, don't change it.' |

Its the same engine as they added to the Jupiter X, and will be added to the Fantom in 2022.
Love the boutiques to, they offer a lot in a small package. _________________ Korg Kronos 2/88 , Genos, Mainstage3 +VSTsu, ipad pro, GSi Gemini, Roland Integra 7, Jupiter Xm, Yamaha motif XS rack, Ketron SD90.

Interesting board. Love the design and appearance. I wonder if it is significant advancement from the current Vox Continental. _________________ http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default.cfm?bandID=807494
