So installing RNDIS6 allowed me to successfully update from 1.05 to 2.01 but after doing so Device manager shows a new unknown device called CDC NCM and the Editor does not see the Wavestate. Installing RNDIS6 on this new unknown device does not fix the issue, and the KORG MIDI utility says no connected device found. I don't have these issues with any other major brand of music gear, so this is very frustrating.

OK so I fixed this. On the Wavestate

Press Utility
Page Down to USB Network
Change to RNDIS

On Windows in Device Manager locate the RNDIS under Other Devices and install the Microsoft RNDIS6 driver again.

Finally have the Editor/Librarian working.
