Posted: Wed Mar 30, 2022 4:31 pm Post subject: Where Can I Find The Factory PA4X Styles? |
|
|
I recently switched from a PA4X to a PA4X Oriental and the Oriental version does not have all of the factory styles my PA4X had. Where can I download those files? In particular, I'm looking for one called, I think Soul Pop or Soul Ballad (can't remember the exact name.)
Thank so much! |

You should be able to load it from the Save All file you created on your Standard 4X _________________ Biggles

It doesn’t appear to have saved the factory styles, only the user styles. |

I just saved these for you.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cWeBMXbioTl9XBvEwzEOMdmfJsY_7vn0/
This includes factory PADs, VOICE PRESETs and KBD SET LIBRARY.
The "Soul" styles are in BANK12.STY
Have fun

It is up to you to create a Backup file and a Save All file.
I suggest you create these before and after you make any changes to your keyboard. _________________ Biggles

Sure but....
A "SAVE ALL" will NOT save factory data unless you disable factory data protection.
Performing a "Full Resource BACKUP" will not solve DMkeys request at all - he needs to load individual factory styles.
The only way is to disable factory data protection and perform a "Save All" then select the factory components you want.
My link above will provide that backup data - all factory.

That was the idea, I should have explained it better _________________ Biggles

I just purchased an Oriental. My understanding was it came with additional sounds, along with all of the factory sounds.
Basically it adds the LOCAL tab.
However, when you turn it on, LOCAL is the default setting, and I can't figure out how to change it. Should be a GLOBAL setting, but I haven't found it.
Example - Pa4x from factory starts up in Funk and Blue with Chicago Blues as the default style. Upper 1 - Pop Piano Upper 2 - Dark Pad, Upper 3 - Full Strings, Lower - Movie Strings 1...
My Oriental has Sitar's loaded in for Upper 1 and Upper 2, then a Pad, then strings. The default keyset is coming from LOCAL. I simply want to make the keyboard turn on, defaulted to Factory.
Not sure what I'm missing, hope someone has experienced this.

You can select your keyboard the way you wish for it to be after power on:
Set it up the way you want and press and hold down "MY SETTING" - select "OK" to save it.
Now your keyboard will have that setting after power on.
Cheers

I understand this, but that would mean I need to go into each and every song style to change the instruments and then Save to My Settings.
This can't be correct. The Western Styles should all be set up as western styles.
I made a Backup of the system and reset to factory (was a brand new keyboard) - I didn't notice any changes after powering on.
I must be missing something, but can't find it in the manuals as of yet.
I did copy your file from this thread, but also want to make sure I preserve the Oriental specific (LOCAL) sounds. _________________ Dave Kalbach

Sorry - I have completely misunderstood your question:-
Quote: | However, when you turn it on, LOCAL is the default setting, and I can't figure out how to change it |
I thought your were referring to the default keyboard set after power on.
Not really understanding you question - sorry...
Please be aware that the PA4X is designed around the use of SONGBOOK - you can use this to instantly load complete keyboard settings for any song whether a STYLE, MP3, or MIDI.
Gone are the days of changing all the keyboard sets, panning, volumes, instruments and overwriting a style with the changes - SONGBOOK is the answer and is your friend!!
I would love to help with your question but am still confused by it.
Quote: | I made a Backup of the system and reset to factory (was a brand new keyboard) - I didn't notice any changes after powering on. |
What are you expecting in terms of "changes"?
Cheers

Great answer!!
That was an eye opener. I hadn't gotten to Songbook yet and that fixed the problem (looks like there was no problem)
I think the ORIENTAL delvers from factory with a different Style "Ciftelli1 TR" and Bank USR-TR1 as it's default. When I then switched to Chicago Blues (following along Steve's Demo in the Video Manual) my instruments didn't match. Now I see that it was just a different keyboard set selected at the bottom which caused me the confusion.
Sorry for the trouble, and thanks for helping. _________________ Dave Kalbach
