It just does not cut it for me.. why can’t they just make it a real workstation (8 to 16 keyboard parts) with styles and songs on top of it?
Or take it a step in the direction of the jupiter 80 (with 10 voices) .. best performance key ever.
Sticking to this simple 3 right and one left just shows arranger keyboard builders are not seriously about forwarding their products to the next gen..
This also probably means, the pa4x will stick to the old engine, and will not have new engines transfered from kronos/nautilus despite the rumors.. |
Yes I can understand this line of thought, you would think today's technology would allow for a large increase in polyphony to take us to that point to cover this concept... but perhaps a business philosophy requires us to buy another one of their products/synths to partner with an arranger (which many of us do already) as they probably make more money that way rarther than giving us everything in one package by keeping clear distinctions between product lines?... but a concept I think many would like to see... but unfortunately it looks like the future is not now.... in the mean time I will remain optimistic and see if this will be a contender to replace my current Pa4x? |
I dont beleive its a marketing thing. They still think todays arranger players have the same wants and needs as 25 years ago..
This might hold true for typical Y players, but seems to me the K arranger players are a different breed _________________ Korg Kronos 2/88 , Genos, Mainstage3 +VSTsu, ipad pro, GSi Gemini, Roland Integra 7, Jupiter Xm, Yamaha motif XS rack, Ketron SD90.

That could well be true - from my experience there are a number of arranger players (I know and have dealt with) that do not need the flexibility and rich features of arrangers that K offers.
Y players have seemed to be a different breed - I agree.

most important thing is with respect to all oldies, The people behind the K or Y is Old guys with not much knowledge about todays technology, most of them don,t use even 30% of the things on K or Y,
but WE the newer generation, or people with more needs we must have more sample numbers, more ram more fx more edits, more of all.
it,s not only a chacha or rumba thing anymore, and I DO NOT USE PASADOBLE

Do you prefer "The Charleston", perhaps, as we are in the "roaring twenties"?

So they would made Pa5X without START/STOP, RESET tempo, ecc.. buttons.
Moreover, they would stopped to use Maxx Audio and TC-Helicon technology.
I'm the perplexed one. |

In general in the front panel there is no graphic indicating used technologies (DNC, TC Helicon, Maxx Audio ect.) but it doesn't mean Korg has abandoned it _________________ Korg pa5x vs Genos 2 - spec comparison |

Hmmmm - a few buttons in that picture still illegible.
I can't see a reason why they would exclude Maxx and TCH - that would be a show-stopper for me.
Temp & STOP/START has to be there somewhere.
Let's pray they don't remove after-touch like the Nautilus!!!

The Start/Stop buttons are moved on the left side, just above the Intros buttons.

Yes…those are synchro Stop/Start buttons. But there still isn’t a main start/stop button. |

Play/Stop button feature could have been taken over transport play/stop button in players section. _________________ Korg pa5x vs Genos 2 - spec comparison |
