Hi all,
I have created a bunch of DVD+R DL disks that each contain about 8GB of Wave samples (48khz, 16 or 24 bit). The problem I’m facing is that, although I can lid these into the Kronos using an attached USB DVD Writer, I can’t audition them using the “play” button in disk mode, which makes them basically impossible to navigate.
If I place the same samples on a USB Memory Stick, I can play them in disk mode.
The Kronos manual says that most disk types are supported by the Kronos, including floppy disks, flash memory and CD Drives. However nowhere does it mention (that I can see) that auditioning samples is restricted to certain types of media.
Incidentally, I’ve also found that you can’t audition Akai Sample CDs without first loading them.
Anyone found this, or is it the way I’m burning the disks? If using UDF format burnt from a Mac, but the same behaviour is exhibited on CDs burnt directly on the Kronos.
As for anyone asking why I’m using DVDs instead of flash memory? Well, DVDs are cheap, easily labeled and organised, less likely to be accidentally overwritten. I just prefer them to flash memory, which I’ve also found wears out really quickly!
Thanks!
