We are using the Korg Krome for live performance and you're wondering if you can answer a few questions about managing the combi and program patches live?

What is the best way to audition new programs while preserving user combi (D) and program (F) banks. It seems that when loading a PCG file for example the bonus M1 or Triton banks that they load in the D and F banks of the combi and programs. Since these are also the user banks any user banks get over written.

I also have the pc editor and and a 3rd party's PCG tools app that seems pretty nice. Would it be possible for you to provide a couple of paragraphs detailing how best to keep my user banks and also experiment and add new programs individually from other libraries?

You can audition programs directly from a PCG file by Opening it instead of Loading it. Using the touchscreen, you can navigate into banks and select the programs to audition them. You cannot in general audition combis in this way because they will point to programs stored in your keyboard.

Sounds great. How do I open them instead of load them? The media button has tabs for load and save.

That way we can audition them, pick our favorites and copy paste them in PCG tools app and make a Bank F user bank of our fav programs. Then we can make our ultimate Combis ! Thanks !

Is it possible to directly copy a single previewed program to a single patch location in Bank F of programs ?

I go to the big manual - the Parameter Guide - for details of all menu pages, buttons, and options:
https://www.korg.com/support/download/manual/0/85/1937/

Page 215: On the Load page you will find the blue "Open" button. There is also a description of PCG Preview capability.

page 228: See "4) Load a Program" which allows you to copy a single program previewed from a PCG file to a single program location in your keyboard.
