I noticed there is no way to use fixed scale for the vocal processor. A lot of times you don't want harmony to follow your left hand, because the upper/lower third vocal harmony drifts into fourths... I used upper third vocal harmony always by fixed scale the song is in.

Another bummer is a lack of de-esser. I'm not sure if there is ducking delay/reverb effect which is absolute must for me. At the time being, it seems i would actually need an aditional TC processor for my vocal setup.

Overall, how would you compare the Pa4X's TC Helicon voice capabilities to those of the Pa5X?

I read the "Performance Manual" section on vocal processing, but have not compared it directly to the Pa4x manual.

I did not see Soft & Hard Pitch correction; nor many options/parameters for Pitch Correction. Perhaps I've missed something or the terminology differs.

I am not sure, i haven't had the chance to compare them directly. The question is also how the reverbs and other effects compare. TC is one of the leaders in this category. However now that Behringer owns TC, we are stuck with this for some time to come.

Do you own the Korg Pa5x or are you saying that just by seeing the videos?
I have noticed the same thing but in a page seen in a video seems to have it...i hope someone verify it...

Are you saying that 'TC' has halted development of new products, or just, perhaps, licensing parts of their tech to Korg?

Also, do microphones have adequate de-essers? I seem to recall that TC has de-essers in their stand-alone products.

The "TYPE:" field has :
Chord , Scale , Shift and Notes
When you set it on Scale, it opens the "KEY:" and "SCALE:" fields where you can set the scale and key as suggested by their names..
I can't connect a microphone to confirm it doesn't really follow right now as it is almost 5AM here but it should work as it says on screen!

Another update. Shift Audio are two ex-TC guys who weren't thrilled with Behringer taking over, so the technology in the Pa5x seems to be coming from the same place.
