Hey all,

I have a Krome EX73 that I use constantly in Studio One 5, but only as a MIDI controller. because it's not cooperating as an external instrument. For some reason, and despite following the PreSonus tutorials on setting up external instruments, I can't get it to perform on playback from the DAW. As a result, I can hear myself play and it records the MIDI data as expected but the synth won't respond to its own data to play back the performance.

Any guidance with Studio One 5 and the external instrument setup would be very helpful.

Thanks,
Doc

It is possible that MIDI isn't getting out of the computer into the Krome, although it seems to be working the other way.

One thing that might be worth doing is to perform a test using the Krome editor, to see if it is possible to receive AND send data e.g. a Program or a Combi. Then go from there. Studio One 5 is not installed here, so can't help you directly.

Double-check that the MIDI setting on the relevant channels on the Krome is set to BOTH, meaning that it will respond to internal as well as external signals.
