One could only assume that KORG don’t see much value in setting up a big stands. Sign of the times given the Internet alone will do just fine for product announcements.
Many companies that used to attend don’t even go any more.

| I’m still hoping that KORG will release a successor to the Kronos line in the not too distant future, hopefully one that will not try to reinvent the wheel by making it square (I hate what Roland and Yamaha have done to the sequencer, crippling a natural linear workflow). |

Me too, and I don’t think it would take much to make a successor. I mentioned this in another thread, but basically, what would keep me happy is a switch to a 64Bit OS so that the end user can throw vastly more RAM into the motherboard for streaming, and from an engine point of view, just add the Wavestate, ModWave and OpSix into this new workstation.
One thing I wouldn't like to see happen, KARMA being removed. I’d actually hope the opposite happens and Stephen Kay was engaged for full production of a new version that would carry us all well into the future. KARMA is simply brilliant.

Im with you on the KARMA aspect, and have recently been in touch with Stephen thru email. And on KLF he mentions working on a “standalone” version of KARMA for newer OS’s… No word on how far along he is, didn't ask. But my round about impression is that it remains a working goal of his. Also sent him some mockups of possible marketing material which I hope he got a kick out of…
Been trying to generate some encouraging activity and inspiration to send him good Karma (all puns intended) and have gotten myself deep in the weeds with cataloging all the Realtime SysEx message from the og KARMA WS.

And even did some Performance Prompts which Ive been posting on the Karma-Lab forum, and a few other select boards... Would be awesome if more prolific musicians would share their experiences and performance tips!

I'm seriously missing KARMA since selling my KARMA, M3s and Kronos - I am seriously considering getting another Kronos.....
...then I'll have to sell something.... to replenish the account

The switch to 64 bit alone is already a great move forward, and they could add synth engines like the OpSix, ModWave and the WaveState.
On top of that KORG has released some great software which also could be turned into new engines in a next generation workstation, so there are lots of options for new engines available.
I agree that the inclusion of KARMA would be great, but given the absence of KARMA on the Nautilus KORG may feel differently?
I just hope they don’t wait for another year or two. |

| At this point even a standalone GADGET device with arbitrary pattern lengths would be a step up. |

This has made my day!!!! I recorded this from a promotion VHS video my retailer had and it was this video that started my relationship with Korg - i3,i30,PA1x,PA2x,KARMA,M3,PA3x,Kronos,PA4x.
My recording of this was damaged so never watched it again!!!.
Apart from Stephen's incredible playing, I particularly loved the demo about the STYLE Chord Variations.

Oh to see a Kronos successor.
With a 64-bit OS.
And updated sequencer (that shows linear time and has similar editing capabilities to the Motif and QY sequencer range). Perhaps with improved pattern sequencing too (why in RPPR can I not record a new pattern whilst playing another)
Improved sampling workflow.
Better file management regime (time to let go of the convoluted referencing system: for each song, combi and program simply store all the parameters in each object, rather than having to deal with bank and reference management).
Some new sound engines and perhaps some updated effects.
And capacitive touch screen too.
Edit: and onboard GE editing, even if simplified.
