I have the O but this should apply equally to the K.

Should I buy an external midi controller or rely on the on-board adaptions (sliders /knobs) in the K. I wouldn't have to go into external mode in the K for example.

If I use the on-board patches in the K, will the external controller 'control' them or will it only work on sounds generated on my DAW from third party libraries through Kontakt or whatever?

I have in mind a Monogram Creative Controller set up in Cubase.
