I would like to add Vocoder to an existing Combi.
I copied factory program "|Vocoder (Mic Input 1)" into Timbre 8 in my combi.
The IFX chain for Vocoder ended up starting on IFX9.
I'm testing by soloing Timbre 8 and trying to use the Vocoder.
It works fine when played as a program, but is silent when used in the Combi.
I changed the Audio In Sampling to uncheck Global Setting, and changed Input 1 to send to FX Control Bus 1 (which is used as Modulator in Vocoder IFX)
I verified the Audio In tab on Control Surface was identical in Program and Combi.
I can see the audio input meters move on the Audio In page and the Audio In Sampling pages.
The only difference I can see is that the Program has "All OSCS to IFX1", where the combi has Timbre 9 to IFX9. But that setting is not applicable to Combi, I believe.
What am I missing to get a Vocoder to work in a combi?
In the manual there is a section "Rhythmic Vocoder (Combination mode)" which seems to imply Vocoder should work in a Combi. The details match what I have already done.
Can the Vocoder be used as one Timbre in a Combi?

I figured it out.
I was starting to work on other timbres in the combi, and had turned off the Solo for timbre with the Vocoder on it.
I was playing the others and bumped the microphone, and heard the vocoder.
So apparently the Timbre "Solo" function is incompatible with the Vocoder. It must mute the Audio In and/or the FX bus somewhere. Is it a bug or "undocumented feature"? (I reviewed the manual on Solo, and there is no mention of it affecting audio in or FX Ctrl Bus.)
So, to isolate the timbre with Vocoder in a Combi, it is necessary to mute all the other active timbres, rather than use Solo.
