Greetings everyone!

Does anybody know if the “EXs320 KRONOS EXs Extras” library contains the EXs3 brass and woodwinds library that comes as stock on the Kronos?

I couldn’t figure out if this is the case even after reading the pdf document

Thankyou

The samples that are in EXs3 on the Kronos should already be on the Nautilus, from the factory. To check this, go to Program mode and select Program I087 Sir Duke Brass. If it's present in slot I087 and plays OK, then the chances are that the samples present in Kronos' EXs3 are installed.

As I don't have a Nautilus here at present, out of interest, could you go into the I087 Sir Duke Brass Program's Osc1 Basic tab and look in the Multisamples section at the Bank that the Multisample(s) are located in. What does it indicate? If it shows ROM, then that would suggest that the EXs3 samples have been lumped into a samples Bank called ROM.

Thankyou for your reply, voip.

I checked but it says ‘Rom m”
Unfortunately, I can’t see any evidence of the EXs 3 in the Oscillator tab or in any of the KSC’s on the hard disc.

Maybe I’m missing something?

Below is a list of Korg Kronos EXs libraries and examples of Programs which are also present in the Nautilus. The Nautilus locations are shown. I've added ROM to the EXs3 example, as this is the Multisample Bank that you found to be utilised on the Nautilus.
Code:

EXs1 - ROM Expansion        Stereo Concert Piano   F 006
EXs2 - Concert Grand Piano  Stereo Piano Boesy     F 008
EXs3 - Brass & Woodwinds    Sir Duke Brass         I 087    ROM
EXs4 - Vintage Keyboards    Clav Register AD       G 000
EXs5 - ROM Expansion 2      Tape Brass             I 117

From the factory, these following piano types do not sound on the Nautilus.  Optional Nautilus Sound library downloads are required to play them.
EXs6 - SGX-1 German D Piano
EXs7 - SGX-1 Japanese C Piano

If all of the other example Programs from the EXs libraries are indeed present on your Nautilus (based on the Nautilus Voice Name List, they should be), and they all produce a sound, I wonder if you would be kind enough to add the multisample Bank being used for each Program. It may well be that EXs1 to EXs5 have been consolidated into the RAM multisamples Bank, in the same way that the Kronos RAM multisample Bank contains a lot of samples from earlier Korg instruments.

EXs 3 is not available for Nautilus. The best PCMs from Exs 3, Funk And Soul Brass and others were selected in ROM.

Thankyou, Dan

That’s a real pity. There were some great programs in that library that I used frequently on the Kronos I used to own. They were extremely well programmed and sounded very organic when used with the different controllers.
I used this library more than any other

A backup .PCG file copy from the Kronos, or the factory default .PCG file, could be opened in Media mode on the Nautilus, and navigated to select a Program of interest to see if it plays and sounds the same. The Programs don't need to be installed on the Nautilus for this test, but they can subsequently be copied to a chosen destination.

I picked that up for my Oasys years ago. The Brass and Woodwinds collection of Orchestral and pop samples EXs3 is a wonderful resource. Cool

Well……. I decide to download the EXs320 KRONOS EXs Extras

The Brass & Woodwinds samples are now in the Nautilus but the PCG’s don’t point to the samples when loading. Strange….

At least it’s some good news. It looks like I have to rebuild the programs from scratch…..

If try to load the Kronos programs, open PCG and add the programs one by one maybe the programs will not find the sample location. If load the entire PCG, Nautilus will detect the Kronos programs and will change the location automatic.

Thanks Dan

I’ve tried this but I’m still experiencing the same issues…. Rolling Eyes

Ok, let me check myself to see the issue. Just download the EXs320.
Which Brass program you need to load from Kronos ? Or which program not match ?

I talked about your situation with our voicing leader. I thank him for this answer:

EXs315_316_317_318_319_320.PCG is not including EXs2 Concert Grand.PCG, EXs3 Brass Woodwinds EXtra.PCG and EXs4 Vintage Keyboards.PCG. Because they are not preload programs on Kronos2. But EXs320 provides PCMs to use those programs if they load original Kronos programs like his own PCGs.

Dan, thank you so much for making such a massive effort to help me with this situation! It is very much appreciated!

If I am understanding you correctly, if I could get hold of a Kronos PCG, it will reference the samples correctly?

Yes, load the original Kronos2 PCG. Nautilus should patch the PCM.
