Hi everybody.
I'm looking for help to create lots of combi for electronic music.
So, I know how to synthetise sounds (OSC, FILTERS, EG, LFO) on usuals synthétizers but I'm not easy with :
- Step sequencer
- AMS to control LFO, EG, FILTERS etc
- Wave sequencer to create ambiances

Is there somebody here that could help me to understand or give me some shortcuts tutoriels because the parameters guide is incomprehensible

Thanks you everybody

The incredible capabilities of the Kronos as an instrument, brings with it a degree of complexity that will inevitably take some time to learn.

Using the Kronos Editor can help to gain a better visualisation of the many things going on within Programs, and it is within Programs that much of the sound design normally takes place. Combis are typically used to combine the goodness of two or more Programs in various ways.

It is much easier at first, to take existing Programs that already sound close to your desired sounds, and practice making changes to the various parameters.

And we haven't mentioned KARMA yet, unless that's what you meant by step sequencer. Programs have their own step sequencers, which can be used as a modulation source (AMS) for various things, and which are separate from KARMA.

At the end of the day one cannot avoid reading the Parameter Guide, not for the exact function of this parameter or that effect (that's the bulk of it!) but because it has explanatory material for the different engines and other features that go well beyond what is in the Operation Guide.

It would take its time, though. The Kronos is deep.

There is no shortcut. Practice is key if you want to learn. Start by editing existing programs.

1) To understand the step sequencer, start with your Kronos stock program On The Run. You can even fix the wrong note so to get the correct sequence of the famous song. The step sequencer can also serve other purposes.

2) To understand AMS, again study then edit existing programs to see what happens. There are also many tutorials available on youtube etc for that stuff.

3) Wavesequences come from the Korg Wavestation. I was lucky to own one for several years before buying my Kronos. Video tutorials about both the Kronos and the Wavestation can be useful to practice on wavesequences. There are limitless possibilities.

I thank you all but especially Dan Stesco who gave me an exhaustive and very useful response by email. He works for Korg and he masters the kronos. A great thanks for him because I will really progress with his explanations to finally use the kronos at more than 10%!
