In this tutorial we are going to modify a song style to a generic style. The pa5x has hundreds of styles based on existing songs but on the pa5x it's very easy to change them to generic styles so that you can play any song with that style. This tutorial shows the simple steps needed to do this.
Topics:
00:00 demo of the style we are going to create
00:11 introduction
00:48 modify Billie Jean Song style to a generic style
05:14 add your own chord progression to the style
06:37 demo of the generic style
07:29 outro
Wow! This is very cool, and quite helpful.
I'm learning new things daily on the PA5x that are so awesome in my work.
Thanks for the video, Qui.
Not only are they super helpful, but I appreciate your chord structure knowledge during performances.
I wonder if you know how to 'add' song length measures and sustain parts at the end of MIDI files.
Some files end according to the MIDI file, however I would like to sustain out the last chord longer.
The MIDIs just seem to stop sustain short at the ends of some tunes.
I tried 'record' through the song on any channel, used the sustain pedal on the part.
And I even tried to play out and hold a part longer at the end of the song,
The sound of what I added still ends too early, like it doesn't 'record' what I play into the MIDI file
