M1 Sysex Import Tool

Post by Daz »

M1 Syx Split

The Legacy DE M1 is not able to import sysex dumps that contain multiple dump types in the same physical file. This tool splits those types of files into individual files containing each sysex message for easy import into the Legacy M1. If the Legacy M1 won't import your old M1 sysex files, try using this tool.

You simply start up the application and drop a sysex file onto it's Window from the Windows Explorer and it will create some new sysex files whose name is based on the original file name and a suffix according to the the type of the contained data. Those new files are created in the same folder where the file you dropped came from.

For example if I drop the file m1best.syx on the application it creates 3 files :

m1best_AllCombis_Int100.syx
m1best_AllPrograms_Int100.syx
m1best_GlobalSetup.syx

... these files are created in the same folder where the original file "m1best.syx" lives.

If you want to "bulk process" a load of sysex files in one go, simply select multiple files in the Explorer and drag/drop them onto M1 Syx Split.

This tool is Freeware and is provided "as is". Currently there is no support for sysex dumps that were saved using Atari ST applications such as GenEdit or Synthworks.
