Greetings.

I wonder if other TR users are having this problem.
It seems that you cannot create new banks on TR, so organizing sounds for live gigs and stuff becomes quite hard, unless you want to overwrite factory sounds.
What do you suggest I should do?

Also, I didn't get an USB cable with my keyboard, so does anyone know will normal USB cable work with TR, or does it have to be some specific cable made by Korg or something?

Use an SD card to save and load any of your edited programs and combinations.
The factory sounds can be recalled from ROM.
They're permanently inside the TR.

i have the same problem
i do not know how to use the TR for gigs
i cannot move all the sounds around, this way i have to delete the initial presets, and if i want to use the same piano for 3 songs, i have to copy that piano sound in 3 different places ... which is inefficient

i also do not like the fact that when i hold down a chord for example, and pres the "inc" button to go to the next sound, the initial chord disappears, it isn't sustained.
i do not know what to do about this

1. Read back the topics.
2. Buy an SD card and save the gig sounds on it and than at home load back the needed.
3. In combi mode you can't hold the chord this way, only in program mode, but it sounds terrible anyway.
Idea

4. there is always a free combi 127 (or program) and you can "step" through it.

This problem in guestion is the only bad issue i've thus far noticed on my TR. It's pretty annoying to delete the preset sounds and then reload them again. And the programming is slow. And as i live here in the middle of nowhere, no one sells any sd-cards nor foot switches within a hundred miles. I would curse at this point if it was allowed. Evil or Very Mad

Well... the preset sounds are amazing and the all the controllers kick ass. That's enough opinions for one day.

how do i delete a preset combination. Or can it just be done by overwriting them. I mean could i make free space in beforehand?

Copy the #127 combi to the place u want to be empty.
Overwriting is enough. Don't be afraid of erasing a preset. It can be restored very fast.

Are the presets that precious? They are only put in there by the factory to get you started!
Here's a good one for you all and some advice.
I take Rick Wakeman's advice and put ALL MY OWN sounds in a synthesizer. For god sakes, it's a synthesizer, be creative. Why would anyone want to use the same presets sounds a million other TR users have at their fingertips. Any jerk off the street can do that. I saved all the "good" presets and made up the rest from scratch on my own, they are organized by the way I use them live. I'm up to replacing 126 so far and I plan on filling up the other 382 programs with my own sounds too. Then I'll start on the Combi's. No sampler, just good old fashioned creativity. Don't get rid of the TR, use your head. Their is no perfect keyboard, but you can make it your own and then it will be the best keyboard out there because it's YOUR creation, not a factories suggestion.

Although I might not have been so blunt, and not nearly as harsh, I totally agree with The Truth.
All of the combi's I use live, are my own creation. It's fun, and they work so well, especially when the presets just aren't there.
One of many reasons I bought the TR.

I've got the same thing. I use only own combis, exept the sampled sieinway piano. I love to make new sounds. And also I create the sounds I loved in my X5DR. Cool thing! Laughing

Let me apoligize to all of you...I didn't mean to sound harsh, I was blunt because I let my frustations go wild in the message. The other keyboardist in my band consistantly takes 2 to 3 minutes to change and find his patches, because he is too stubborn to program the patches together so they are convienient to switch. I tried to tell him, but he dosen't listen, so now I will have to eventually replace him because of the embarrasing silence between the songs waiting for him. Also, I know many keyboard playing pals that keep sampling this and sampling that and buying new boards and are never never happy with the presets and won't even try making their own sounds. The samples are already in the keyboard and waiting to be tweaked. So I was just making a point that presets are just some guy or gals creation from the factory to get us started. SOmetimes they get one right, but usually the presets need to be changed as all our tastes and ears are different. Thats what makes music making and creating so great, because it's an extension of our minds.

Your keybardist is stupid. He really should reprogram the settings or at least to stick a note with numbers on it. This was one of the points why I bought Korg. Now I can reach the needed sounds with just 1 button press. Laughing
