In Style Mode if you HIT RECORD and then select RECORD NEW PAD in there
you can hit MENU and then select IMPORT, thats where you can import
samples, grooves, loops and stuff.

Hello Nedim:

I have a looped wav sound file that is a Hindi(Asian Indian) instrumental sound that is called Tampora. This sound wav is used as back-ground music while playing the Harmonium. What it does, is keeping the singer in tune. I have tried the TIME SLICE procedure and saved it in the Pad area but it just will not loop correctly. Can I use your procedure and than import it to the Pad area. Is this possible because the TIME SLICE procedure is not working. Hope to hear from you soon.

Best Regards,

Fahim,

Hi Nedim,

I tried this. There are two tabs, Grooves and SMF. My files are .wav/.Mp3, I selected grooves, in this option, it says "Import Groove" From "No Groove" and thre is no option available to hit "From" to select my groove.

and in SMF, it allows to select files from USB but it definitely doesn't display .Wav or .mp3 as this option is only for SMF.

I am a musical sequencing pro, I am asking questions about PA800 use as I have newly bought it. I have been making living with music for the last 12 years not only after buying Pa800 and I am earning for my very hard work spending 14 hours every day making sequences.

AND the users who bought PA800 after me and don't know the things which I know, if they ask, I reply them as well. YOU SHOULD view my answer posts as well not only questions.

Hope this would enough to help you out Wink

This is how it works:
You go to SAMPLING MODE, you press MENU and you select TIME SLICE.
Then you go to the arrow on top and select LOAD SAMPLE, after that LOAD
the LOOP and now you see it as a WAVE on the display.
In there you see few parameters which i cant talk about now, do not toucht
the TEMPO parameter but figure out how many BARS is the LOOP and then
set the BAR parameter to the proper number and hit the SLICE param.
NOW if you press C2 you'll hear the LOOP. Go to the ARROW and press SAVE
and choose a location in the USER AREA. After you save it exit SAMPLING.
Go to STYLE MODE and hit RECORD, in there choose RECORD NEW PAD and
once in there click the PAD TRACK: in the middle and choose the same
SOUND from SOUND MODE which you have just saved. Then hit MENU and
then IMPORT, now in GROOVES you see IMPORT FROM: and you already
see the GROOVE name, otherwise you wont see a GROOVE name in there
which is your problem Shahid, you cant LOAD straight raw files in there cuz
they need SLICE information. Then just LOAD the groove and thats it, SAVE.

As for you Fahim its a little bit of complicated question, it wont loop cuz
it needs editing in a wave editor first and then editing back in TIME SLICE.
Like this i cant help you cuz i dont know nothing about the loop itself,
if you want send it to me, i'll fix it on the comp with a propper begining and
end then when you load it you wont have problems, it will loop better.

Hi Nedim,

Fantastic, It worked all fine. You have helped me a lot with technical things.

After making the pad I coppied it on to my USB as a PAD .SET, checked on PC, it shows User01.pad file in the .SET folder, If someone else loads it into his PA800, does he need the sample file (which i used in the pad) seperately?

and do you think, it did not copy the sample file into USB when I coppied the pad.SET on to USB? as when I reload the .PAD file back from USB to my PA800, it does sound right !! is that because I already have the sample file in my PA800??

Yup and all of you have to know one thing. Once a loop is loaded, and saved,
next time when you turn the synth on you can use it as loop, rather will
ne just as a regular KMP, so once you load it, edit it and save it, create
a groove right away.

What procedure shall I use to Save these pads on to USB as my backup for later time usage?? so I won't need to do time slice procedure again for these pads samples and just load back from my USB to PA800.

I actually want to save in a format where PA800 picks up all the pad data including my .wav file which I sliced for the pad. Hope you understand my question. Thanks
