|

Hey all
Just some more Mac advice if I may please.
Recently turned 'Mac' and loving it - and only now getting some time to think about using it for my music production etc as I have been so very busy with my work. I had heard a lot about how the Mac audio device works very well - so is it OK for me to connect the output of my mixer directly into the Audio In on the Macbook...?
I will still use the USB on my MOTU midi express to record all MIDI, but is the Macbook audio card suitable for mixing down audio...?
Wonderful weekend of music making bekons
Thanks all... _________________ John

Hi Lorenzo
I have a Macbook with 2GB RAM, and a Yamaha MW12 mixer. Does that help...? _________________ John

yes it helps a little cos sadly I know that macbooks haven't got good internal audio devices... anyway you can try and trust your ears for the results. If you don't like the recording or you want to upgrade your studio, consider to buy an external FW audio device.
About the mixer, I know that Yamaha has good pre and is of good quality, so nothing to say about it.

+1 for the Firewire audiocard and if you can afford a very good one...just go for an RME (Fireface400/800,Multiface I/II),Motu,Apogee (Duet) you won't regret your purchase, all these cards have tons more of capabilities to get you sound great than the cheaper (ie. M-audio's,). _________________ ESX1,EMX1,KP3. |
