I am also looking for a good used D32XD or a pair of D16XDs.
I believe that these two models were too expensive for the market, and Korg sold very few before they were heavily discounted at the end of their short run. It's so sad that people believe a PC DAW can come anywhere close to the reliability and hands-on control of standalone hardware. There's also the workflow benefit of fewer options and almost non-existant latency. The market has really suffered.
From what I can tell, the D3200 is 90% of a D32XD minus the moving faders, touch screen, and ADAT option. _________________ OASYS 76 000362

Yeah really sucks!! Korg told me it was due to sluggish sales and production costs. They were hands down the BEST DAW's ever!! _________________ MY Weapons of choice: K2600X, Oasys88, PC3X, K2661, V-Synth, MotifESR, ZR-76, TS-12, VFX, EPS16+,ESQ-1, ESQ-1R, Emu Xtreme Lead, SCI Six Trak, HR-16, Kurzweil Mark 150 Baby Grand and 2 D1600's synced!!!

I heard the same thing from Turnkey in London: they said people preferred to use a PC to get those kind of features rather than pay what was perceived to be such a high end price. So the model sat in an unattractive price range.
I got the D3200 which is pretty good, though I posted here some problems with the drums which I hope someone can answer. |

I was one of the lucky ones.
I bought mine from new after several unsuccessful years of pulling my hair out using PCs .
I think if you have a good head on your shoulders and a reliable PC set up there's no reason for good result that way but just to eliminate those system conflicts and compatibility issue's (latency) and so on I didn't think twice about the extra cost .
I wouldn't worry about this discontinued unit it IS quite expensive, I'm sure Korg will eventually bring out a more competitive unit with motorised faders touch screen in the near future.
And chances are the bit rate and processor speed will be improved also.
CD burning is slower than a PC and so is fixing hardrive fragments.
Just found this sale link .I do hope its not bogus.

Hi. sorry you are having problems with the on board drums. They seem to have some potential , but I don't use them at all ,I use a set of older drum machines. The 3200 's setup of the drums seemed to be limited. but there are probably some good things in there if you mess with it.Call Korg support!
Good luck. |
