There are definite sound quality differences. Thanks for the comparisons.

Interesting. Just listening on laptop speakers, there's definitively a difference and for keyboards that for all intents were released nearly 10 yrs apart, there SHOULD BE!

It almost sounds like you're hitting the keys harder on the O because the Envelopes on the Triton don't seem to open as far. THere's surely more clarity and fidelity to the samples, the O sounds like it's EQ'd while the Triton doesn't (I'm NOT saying you EQ'd the sound files).

I think it's a bit of an unfair comparison now that the M3 is out, but it's still the same basic flavor. Just different levels of goodness. The fact that the presets from machine to machine have stayed intact sure says SOMETHING, what exactly I'm not sure Wink

I'll have to listen on some real monitors to hear more differences I suppose, but it still pretty much reinforces my original impressions. At least for me.

Now, I'm in the process of getting some VERY high-end Audiophile Polk Audio LSi9 4 ohm Bookshelf Speakers, a Denon PMA-2000IVR Integrated Amplifier, and a matching Polk Audio PSW-1000 825 Watt RMS Dual 10-Inch (A 10-Inch Side Firing Woofer on each side), Powered Subwoofer to REALLY bring out the quality and character of the OASYS.
This entire rig is gonna set me back by $3000, but with the overall quality that the OASYS delivers, an Audiophile System for me the BEST way to go.

MISTAKE

Home hi fi or home theatre amps and speakers are NOT a match for pro keyboards.

This has been discussed before. Do a search

Sorry, Daz. I'm re-posting my original post, and Sina's reply, in a new thread so I can continue to reply in-context to his post there.
