The M3 has a much bigger and thicker sound, it actually sounds more alive compared to the Extreme, even with the tube on. OK The Extreme has got a zillion presets but honestly, they all sound thin and plastic. Id have 3 really good sounding EP patches over 33 crap ones any day of the week. |
was your Extreme crap to you before or after you heard the M3 |

Yes... had it for a year and a half and throughout that period I have always felt that something was missing. Couldnt quite put my finger on what. I mean it sounded OK by itself but got lost in a mix soon as I took it to rehearsal. It just wasnt inspiring after a few months, didnt turn it on much.
I also own a T3 (DEEEP and THICK sounds, but unreliable microswithces to be gigged), had lotsa synths ever since Ive first started gigging in '92. _________________ A Musical Instrument Owner and Player |

Thats your mistake right there, the T3. You should have never touched it . I still have a couple of old Korgs and it is hard to let them go because of the warm sounds. The Tac switches are, as you say. They are a pain thats for sure. |

| What does one do with the Work done on Extreme or Studio if considering moving to M3. Wish Korg allowed for backward compatbility. |
