Hi.
I installed it and it was very simple,
it comes with an installation guide,
if you follow it step by step you will be OK,
note you have to be carefull when you connect the cable to the board,
but like he said only if you feel like you can do that.
Good Luck

What sort of hard disk connectors are there with PA800, I mean are these just standard IDE connectors or Serial ATA or any other korgs own format??
and what maximum hard disk capacity the keyboard can support up to, like 200 GB, 300 GB as if I talk about installing hard disk with PC, some of the computers don't support large capacity hard disks and sometimes hard disk brands may matter as well.
So, any pet information would be appreciated !!

Hello Shahid:
Per info that I have, The Hard Drive must be a 2.5 ATA HD per Korg the supported Capacity is up To 2 Terabyte(Wow! that is huge). Hope this help.

I have downloaded the Hard disk installtion manual, it says I need Hard disk installation kit to install the hard disk, what the hell is this, why didn't korg already included the Kit inside the keyboard and we just install the hard disk at our end.

Shall I format the HD with my computer first and then install it into PA800 or shall I install it as it comes like brand new and format it using PA800?
I can't find the instruction how to install the hard disk in the manual, what page number would it be? as I always use PDF manual and its not in it. |
Hello Shahid:
To see the PDF manual, you must go to www.korgpa.com and under Optional section you should see info for HD. On formatting the HD, I really do not have much info because I am not using the HD. Per others, it is much easier to have a USB Card with large capacity and that is why I decided not to buy the HD. Best of luck.

Hello Shahid:
Sorry!I did not see that you already have dowloaded the PDF manual. Yes they got you! meaning KORG.... The kit is the problem, in here, Korg do not have it. God knows when but I know there are places in US that have the installation Kit. I think in Europe www.synthplanet.com do have the installation kit with the HD. Best of luck.

Fahim, |
Korg is making money on every bit of this keyboard, if they have build up MP3 function in it, why didn't they make the board as "in-built" with the system.
While installing the hard disk with TYROS, you don't need any kit wit. _________________ Music is a real Therapy
