Looking for the best price on an M3M. So far, $2199 is the cheapest I've been able to find on the M3-61. $1995 on the M3M. I was hoping to find it for around $1600. Thanks _________________ Bubba

Companies like Yamaha and Korg have MAP (Minimum Advertised Pricing) which sets a floor for the lowest prices dealers can advertise for a product.
Your best price will always be found by calling dealers or visiting them in person. I would assume $1995 is the MAP for the M3-M.
It appears you are looking for a price that would be approximately 20% below MAP, which might be hard to find. People who get the best prices establish long buying histories with specific dealers.
Dealers are out to maximize their profits, so they aren't necessarily looking to give their best deals to non-established customers.
Here is the list of U.S. Korg Authorized Dealers. I would suggest calling a few asking them for their best price.

Thanks Martin, I'm familiar with MAP. GC's MAP on the M3-61 this weekend is $2199 and $2995 for the M3-88. There dealing big time. But they don't seem to want to come off the price of the M3-M. _________________ Bubba

There is probably one of two things happening here:
1. GC has less profit margin available on the M3-M, so they aren't willing to discount it more
2. GC has more M3-61 and M3-88 inventory they want to move
I've never worked in music retail, but I am sure there is some valid reason why the discrepancy. |
