Guys,
Sorry but don't get me wrong....
This is a little bit strang that there are people who want to buildin a harddrive. The datastream of a harddrive vs usb2 is probably the same.
So why not buy a 2.5 inch extern harddrive and use that instead of wasting youre money one the harddisk kit.

Hi Dnj,
Listen i am not talking about a thumbdrive but a laptopdisk a 2.5 inch extern harddrive. So this disks don't need a separed power supply yust plug it in the usb2 and go.
Why building in a harddrive or buying a 4 Gb thumbdrive.
I think a read in the manual that the usb 2 supported also extern harddrives so....... get the picture.
Regards,

I dont wanna offend anybody but the worst and stupidest thing is to put a
HD to a PA800, do you guys really think you can fill more then 4/8GB
of stuff in it??? Or probably my whole studio inside the PA800? _________________ http://www.basaristudios.com

Hi Nedim,
I agree a with you but beside that if someone asks something and i can be of a help....
I think it's stupid to buy the harddisk addon or a 4 Gb thumb drive.
For that money you will probably get a 60 Gb 2.5 extern harddisk so why not use that.
Right now i am using a 256 Mb thumb drive and i have a spare 40gb laptop 2.5 disk so i was thinking to get a extern case for 20 euro and pluging that to the usb2.
Hope this helps,
Sanjai |

If you have a concert and accidently lost your external hard dirive or in could have stolen and you got all of your data in there which you gonna perform and may be sometimes it is difficult to place the external drive stable, What then?? same thing could happen with Thumb Drive.
Another thing, the people who want do do karaoke and a sort of DJ with PA800 (getting rid of taking 2 instruments, a laptop), then having a HD inside is a good idea. _________________ Music is a real Therapy

First off thanx everyone for the help....
secondly.......I want to load 1600 or so MP3's on a thumb drive like an 8G I see them on ebay.........does the Pa800 recognize a drive that big USB2
Then I want to get the MP3 card from Korg and install it....
can I then play the MP3's and SMF's off the thumb drive using the Pa800's dual sequencer ?
also can I then record to the Thumb drive?
If not how much is the HD Kit approximately & Mp3 card?
Thank you |

Hi,
yes, I am using 4GB but I hope It will support 8 GB or 16 GB USB even a lot more.......
You can load Mp3s and can play off USB if you have MP3 card.
It costs £129 in UK but not in the stock here. I purchased from Norway, it costs me £170 in UK currency including shipping charges. It works fine with MP3's. _________________ Music is a real Therapy

I am not 100% but I think, PA800 will recognize them as my 4GB came with a driver disk and I am using it with PA800 with no need of driver. I think the driver disk is only used for older Windows versions like Window 98/ Windows Me, when there were no USB ports used or may be with less PCs and they use driver disks. _________________ Music is a real Therapy
