Meatball Fulton mentioned in another thread (Radias vs. R3) that
the Radias uses a headset mic. Being an R3 owner, I didn't know that.
I haven't explored the vocoding much on this synth yet. I had fun with vocoding on my Microkorg years ago, and found it useful for recording,
but had some issues with feedback when trying to use it live. I've never used a headset mic - are they any less prone to feedback? If so, I wonder if one could be adapted for use with an R3...hmmm... |

I have a radias and prefer a Shure sm57Beta over the mic that came with the R. The one that came with the R is fairly cheap but works, just watch your levels when going into a PA, what you hear through a set of headphones can be very different than through a PA. I have used SM58's as well but since I had an extra sm57Beta lying around I just sort of adopted it for any vocoding which I don't do often anyway. |
