CD Drive not working - external drive option?

I seem to be experiencing a bit of a meltdown here...
firstly my PA1xpro seems to 'hang ' like an OS crash, now my CD drive won't write any data - it recognises the CD and can read from it - but it habgs whilst both writing the lead in and canceling the writing.
I have transfered the image file to computer and can write the cd there, however this involves a lug up the stairs each time connect to computer. Does the USB work to power an external cd drive, and what is the 'other' cd drive which will work in this keyboard. (The korg one has lasted 13 months - handy for warrenty NOT!)

Hello Sean,

The USB port does not work to power an external CD drive.

However I read your other posts about the hanging OS problem also. Have you tried reinstalling the OS and reloading the resources?

It sounds to me like your problems are more likely software related rather than hardware failures.
