basically i am wondering if there is a way to play something on the microkorg, save it on the microkorg, and set it so it will play that loop over and over while i play something else with another patch & settings. if so, how could this be done? thanks in advance.

No. It's confusing but the MicroKorg is 4 voice polyphonic with a monophonic mode with a 'two-part' multi-timbral engine that's linked.

So...you cannot play two different patches at once. But each patch has two parts.

But you can play multiple patches at once with a sequencer, right?
