I'm thinking about buying this set of Wav samples. Mega Drum Machine Collection
The issue I'm having is that I don't know if some of these samples are legal. If they're illegal, I do not want to buy them. The samples in question are from the Linn LM1 Drum Computer, the LinnDrum, the Oberheim DMX, and Yamaha PSR. I don't know how to find out whether Studiorecordingtools.com asked the permission of the manufacturers of these drum machines to acquire these samples. Are these samples legal, and how do I find out if the site in question received the proper permissions to distribute them?

hi, I'm not sure at all but it seems that the collection is quite similar to the old Hollowsun's so take your time to download the whole hollowsun collection (I had the permission to convert the collection in triton format from the administrator of hollwsun) for free simply subscribing (for free to my forum). I'ts a whole CD full of old synth sounds that travelled around Europe, US and Far East a few years ago. Now you can download it following this link http://www.dedicatedtotriton.net/cgi-bin/Forum/YaBB.pl?num=1170347668
regards, Lorenzo

Thanks for the link, but these samples are extremely cheap, and they're very tempting. I love those vintage drum sounds, especially the Linn sounds. I want to make my own drum patches from these Wav samples, so I don't need to worry about converting them. I just need to know if they're legal, before I buy them. I know that the analog drum machine samples are legal, but the Linn and Oberheim sounds were sampled from drum machines that used sampled sounds, and I know there's a line that's drawn somewhere.
