|
|
This is the first of many questions...it's been months since I've been here, but I'm happy to be getting back to my music.
This is the equipment I have:
Korg Trinity Pro/HDR
Computer with 175 GB of space on hard drive
Sound Blaster XFI (made for gamers, I think)
Cubase SE
2 GB Jaz Drive
Microphone is not so great...I need to buy a decent one.
My goal is to build my own little recording studio and hopefully sell some music. I think I need to start with a better mic, looking for suggestions. Probably need a much better interface as well...would love to buy an Oasys, but that will have to wait for a while.
Any stepwise suggestions from anyone? Any help will be welcomed!
Thanks,
Les |

Hi!
I think that the topic should be moved to another section...
BTW, you've already got a great workstation (the Trinity) and good DAW (Cubase). So if your computer is fast enough to run some plugins, you just need to buy a decend audio interface (M-Audio, RME, MOTU are the way to go IMHO) and a good condenser mic (M-Audio, Rode). Don't forget to buy a pair of monitor, they are a must have for good mixing process (Yamaha, M-Audio, KRK, Tannoy)
This is a good starting point, and I've listed just a few of the high number of possibilities...If you need more help feel free to ask!

Nice to "talk" to you again, Diego...BTW, I'm still trying to get to Italy but my husband isn't too interested...and he's the one with family there!
After I posted this question, I figured it should be elsewhere, but thanks for the suggestions anyway!

The Trinity rocks.
This track was done with a Trinity and pretty much nothing else. It's a straight dump from the sequencer:
