Hello friends,

I have a Korg Triton Classic for almost ten years and I have composed with him almost all my music. I have it full of sounds that I have created all over these years, result of many hours of work.
Now, I want to buy a Triton Extreme for upgrading my studio but first I would like to know if all my sound & combi banks, pcgs and songs created on the Triton Classic I could load them in the Triton Extreme as it is, without losing even one detail.

The only way I can recommend (hard one, but I see no other) is:
1. Write your self a list which will consists of data in your current Triton:
a) list of combinations - their locations (which bank, which slot)
b) list of programs in each combination (program locations in program mode)
c) write down which multisample (presets and user) does each program that you use consists of.

2. When you buy Extreme, find multisample locations in Extreme that match to those on your current Triton

3. Load your .ksc and .pcg data into Extreme

4. Adjust programs first - write them in slots and banks like they are on your current Triton, then assign proper multisamples to them

5. After all this, your combis will work on Extreme just like they were on current Triton.

6. Make eventually needed effects adjustments.

7. The same goes for your drum kits, patterns and .sng data - compare the drum kits to find ones you were using, load your patterns etc.

8. After all this, songs will play just fine.

As you can see, it's not a small job, but few days of work and you are done.

When I had my Extreme, I was easily able to play all of my stuff from previous Triton models without any of the stuff mentioned above.

All I did was for each song, just overwrote the current pcg setup with the one saved with the song. That is of course providing you saved the entire keyboard setup when you saved your sequences.

Problem solved.

Thanks for the answers. To be more exact, What I would do is overwrite all banks of sounds, programs and combis. It is the ROM of Extreme same to the Classic? Suppose that the new waveforms begin where the ROM of Classic ends. With this, when a "program" of Classic call to a waveform of Extreme, if the location is the same, for example, the number 73 in the Classic and at the Extreme this waveform is also 73, should not have problem... The same with the combis. Someone could make a little more light? Thank you all!

like I hinted before , the program listing in the Classic vs the Extreme is NOT a 1 to 1 perfect match.

The Extreme has several hundred more multisamples and programs than the Classic

Due to this, you will need to remap ' some ' programs created in your custom Triton Classic combis so that they work flawlessly in your Extreme

For example, a drum that was in the ' A ' bank in the Classic is now in the H , J or K bank in the Extreme

Do a search for the exact bank translation

It shouldn't be that hard for a programmer of Triton PCG utils to write a Classic->Extreme mapper to ease transition between the two machines.

The factory preload programs and combis that used to be in banks A, B, C, and D in the Triton Classic/Studio are now in Triton Extreme banks J, K, L and M respectively. One needs to just change the letter.

As an example, if your combi previously used A000 Noisy Stabber, just change the reference to J000 Noisy Stabber. Time consuming, but not skull crushing!

If you don't want to make manual changes just load your Triton Classic's resources in order not to have problems with sequencer playback and after some time you can do all nessecary changes with Extreme's sounds.
