Is it possible to make a robot sounding voice, like daft punk for example, with the vocoder? If so can anyone link me to a patch or tell me the settings please? =)

im not sure, but i dont think it is possible with just the onboard vocoder...but, i have just recently purchased a banshee talkbox for use with the microKORG and have not been able to find the proper patch and set up to get it sounding right...if anyone could please help me out with the proper set up for the microKORG for use with a talkbox it would be HUGE!

Sure, you can get robot sounds from any vocoder. In fact, that's what vocoders are best at.

The trick is to understand how not to screw up the understandibility of the words you say into the mic. Start with a good professional mic, not the one that came with it. Then use a sound patch that has a lot of high frequency harmonics, like a square or saw wave with heavy distortion. That's essential in order to hear the Esss, Ths, Efsss, Rsss of the words. Then keep the signal dry - don't add a lot of effects like reverb, delays, or anything else that will lose or muddy up the sound. Vocoders sound robotic without heavy effects. And don't allow any of your natural voice come through the mix - 100% vocode only.

Daft Punk uses very low frequency notes with a ton of high frequency harmonics.
