|
|
Hello Everybody!
So, little problem with MIDI here... I have 2 keyboards, a triton prox and a kurzweil k2000. I have 2 MIDI cables in the In to Out and Out to In in both keyboards. This way, I can play some Kurzweil on the Triton and Triton on the Kurzweil or make really nice layers!!!
Now, I want to know if I can assign a switch (like SW1 button) on different combis to turn out the midi in and midi out signal (like unplugging the 2 midi cables from the Triton)? With the cables, I can split the Triton to put a kurzweil sound in my right hand and a triton sound in the left hand. So, why do I want to disable MIDI??? It's because now I cannot play the 2 keyboards independently unless I don't unplug the cables!!! And starting unplugging cables live would be a big mess!!!
So, what can I do???
P.S.: For live, is it possible to do it and stay in the combi mode???
Thanks so much for your help, Andrew |

why not assign all your combi's as songs in sequencer mode and use that part of the keyboard for the multi timbre(same difference as combi mode only you have 16 cahnnels to play with instead of 8!)
and simply turn off/on midi reception on each sequence you use on each song.
Thats what I used to do when i used 2 keyboards and it gives you loads of options for layering/splitting sounds + the benefit of having a potential 122+ keys to play with! _________________ ESKIMO WALK acoustic band

Yeah, that could be a good idea! But I really need to stay in combi (the bank D) because it's the synchronised bank with the 2 keyboards... |

Correct me if I'm wrong but i don't think theres anything you can do in combi mode that you can't do in sequencer mode? _________________ ESKIMO WALK acoustic band

No your not wrong! But it's that the other keyboard won't be synchronised in the sequencer mode. In combi's mode, the bank D respond to the bank 300 to 399 on the Kurzweil, so I dont have a lot of pedals (1 damper and 1 switch (instead of 2 of them for each keyboard)) and the way I setted up the Kurzweil, it's impossible to do all I can do now in the combi mode. In sequencer mode, the Kurzweil don't recognize (change of sound) even if it's song 1 of song 150.
That's why!!! (If somebody has an idea, you can post!) |
