currently working on this with korg rep
any comments or ideas?

i have spent some more hours troubleshooting the audio leak we were discussing
and i have a better description of the problem and a settup to try and replicate the problem (possibly)
so here goes......

the issue described:
midi/midi+audio selection on all channels leaks (firewire)audio to ext1, 2 and fx sends outputs (firewire and hardware outputs)
volume of leak is set by that channels BLUE colored ext1, 2, fx send knobs(midi control works fine)
but change (on/off, volume)of leak is "activated" or "triggered" by the movement
of the respective ext1,2, fx sent knobs in ORANGE color of any channel in any audio(hardware input) setting (including firewire "audio")

i can not use ext1, 2, fx sent outputs/knobs at all when any channel has midi/midi+audio selected and audio playing through it
or i cannot use any channel for midi/midi+audio when using ext1, 2, fx send outputs/knobs
in regards to the usability of the equipment this is debilitating........
everything else works normal (other than the faulty input 1 selector knob and the hiss on all main outputs)

possible conclusion:
there is a audio/volume/trigger relation between the three knobs.....ext1, 2, fx send in the two different modes.....blue and orange (audio and midi)
this relation occurs with or without actual sound
could be a analogue and/or midi (hardware or firmware?) relation
could possibly the upgraded operating system(1.5) be competing with the old on in some way?
perhaps i need to re-instal the upgraded operating system 1.5? if so please advise.....
or perhaps i am missing something BIG in my setting up procedures......
all manuals (hardcopy and zero edit) say nothing about any operation of these three knobs in blue (midi mode) other than controlling midi signals

to replicate the problem:
set any channel to blue (midi/midi+audio)
have audio running through it (via software)
adjust any/all ext1, 2, fx send knobs (blue)to a desired volume setting (midway/center position)
monitor(listen to) any/all ext1, 2, fx send output
......can do this via firewire(ext1, 2), output jacks(ext1, 2) or cue/return volume in the monitor section (for the zero fx only)
set any channel to orange (audio/hardware input)
turn any/all ext1, 2, fx send knobs (orange)
this will "trigger" or "activate" sound (from the blue firewire input) to leak through any/all respective ext1, 2, fx send outputs
or wait approx 15-20 seconds and sound (from the firewire input) will "activate/trigger" on its own
try changing the volume on any/all of the blue ext1, 2, fx send knobs
and re-triggering/activating with the respective orange knobs
and notice the change in volume via the respective outputs..........fun......but not really
if your zero8 doesn't do this.......then mine has a problem

at some point.....
i will next try a "restore to factory presents"
and re-installing the operating system 1.50
but i will have to redo all presets between limping this gear at gigs........
so.....yeah...........this needs to be addressed
thanks for your time...........

this mixer is a disaster....

for me as an audio engineer, this is my worst nightmare, the thing is so unreliable and sound quality soooooo bad..

korg? what were you thinking? have you not tested this?

the hiss is so obvious, and sooooo bad

like a 10$ toy mixer!

and now this.......(and the mixer has completely froze up on me twice)
anyone else............or is it just mine?

i have had an ongoing issue that i thought was a problem with my ableton settup (learning curve)
but after extensive reading of the manual, troubleshooting and phone conversation with the ableton tech team
it is surely ANOTHER issue with MY zero8.......
in ableton when i dragg an audio mp3 from the browser to the session view to drop it into a track
the audio coming from all outputs (master and earphones) cuts out and clips (while dragging)
this is embarrasing and frustrating in front of an audience and imposible to work around
to be more specific this does not occur when dragging audio(mp3) that is already in the "decoding cache"
and does not occur when audio(mp3) is in the process of "decoding"
it only occurs when dragging audio(mp3) that is not yet in the "decoding cache"
i cannot replicate this problem in ableton with any other output source
ableton is working properly
only when my zero8 is selected as the output source......does this problem occurs
this issue is not occuring at ableton support

What are your buffer settings?

What are your computer specs?

Does the issue happen with WAV files?
