Can the m3 upload sng. files from the triton?

No, you need to go back to the Triton and save the SNG files as Midi Files.
You can then load those Midi Files into the M3.

But let me warn you its real brain damage getting them back to the original sound if you have a lot of tracks and program changes. Frankly I gave up on my complex songs and will probably forget them or record them from scratch

Why can't Korg create some kind of translation software for this conversion? Anybody

Because it's simply not worth it. I'm pretty sure Korg software designers are busy enough and this kind of software would only be usefull for a few people, I guess.
Besides even if a converted existed - you'd still need to adjust the program changes yourself 'cause the synths just have different patches (and no converter can guess what your original idea was).
