I have had the radias now for eight months, and I love the thing to death.. it pairs very nicely with my EMX

but one thing that upsets me, and upsets me more and more as I create music, is there is no choir or ahh presets....

it dissapointing, because if it had those presets, you would come up with some sick sounds if you tweaked them properely

Use the vocoder!!!

Sing in some oohs and aahs, save them as formant motion and then play with the PCM waves Choir Pad, SynVox1 and SynVox2.

that's all I did as well, but I tend to use another synth or combination for the mellotron sounds (layer 2 jd-990's with Emu Classic Keys and Radias using a jd-800 as controller).

Yeah, it's hard to make mellotrons with the radias....

Yes, because it's not a Mellotron Rolling Eyes And it can make very decent synth choirs (like already said - PCM/vocoder)
It's a VA/vocoder synth - if you want mollotron sounds, buy one. I'm sure any rompler could simulate it also, if you find proper samples.

Ha ! This thread motivated me to create a mellotron patch. I'll upload a sample.
