I'm running into trouble connecting my TS via SCSI/USB cable. My PC is running on NTFS file system and OS is Windows XP Professioanl.

I just want to know if TS (which is based on DOS/FAT16) can be accessed by a computer with different file system. Thanks.

I access my TS w/XP w/internal HD's on NFTS. The file system is specific to the drive - and the OS deals with each drive individually.

Hi DrWho,

What's the name/brand of the SCSI-USB adapter you use? Did you have to install any driver for it to work? The only thing I can think of is that either the SCSI-usb adapter is defected and not working or it has something to do with NTFS-DOS compatibility issue.

I am using the same adapter as George. And yes - there is a driver install required on the PC.

Yes I think that's what I need to do. I got a Castlewood adapter which is famous for being problematic. Everyone, if you see an adapter like what shown in this picture (being sold on eBay for around $15) DO NOT BUY IT. It doesn't work.
