Hi all.

Rather than add these photos to the old thread I'm going to start a new one because I don't want these images getting mixed up with the preview renders I posted.

I've finished all the modelling and textures now so here's what the final version of my OASYS Rack looks like.

OASYS Rack Specifications.

For the most part this would be identical to the real OASYS except for 3 new features / modes.

Sequencer.
1: The 8 Pads now double up as Sequencer Locate Points.

2: There is no maximum note limitation or song number limitation as data is read directly off a designated folder on the internal 32GB SSD. This also means no loading data.

3: The ribbon now doubles up as a Humanise feature for songs that have been step recorded or quantised. By sliding your finger from side to side, you can humanise what would normally be a quantised precision recording. However, this does not rewirte the midi information in the track. The humanise feature is added as CC data rather than a rewirte of the actual midi notes so that when you copy a humanised measure to another measure. All the notes are captured, and those slightly out of time due to humanizing are copied too.

4:Piano Roll has been added.

5: The Pattern mode now supports includes the same options found in the main Sequencer Edit page.

6: A semi arranger mode has been added to allow you to try Patterns in different keys in real time, and to use them in normal SEQ mode.

7: The Sequencer now supports KARMA resolutions.

8: The Value Wheel acts as a Jog Wheel now in seq mode and allows you to job Midi Data just like a DAW does.

9: The Key Pad not only double up as Bank Select buttons, but they also support Cue, Panic, Locate and Step Edit features as well as come with a Micro Shift knob for surfing through data while in Event Edit mode. The Jog wheel changes the values, which the Micro Shift navigates the lines of information.

Sampling Mode.
1: Streaming of KORG Format files has been added. Sample libraries are only partly loaded to memory now, similar to Gigastudio.

2: The new Liquid Audio feature allows you to “time slip” sample data in real-time to any point in the time line for any given sample This allows for extreme live audio manipulation controlled by the ribbon, while simply removing your finger from the ribbon time-slips you back into sync. This can be overridden and also allow you to time-slip to any location within a sample.

3: Auto loading at power on has been added.

4: When looping samples, Undo has been added, as well as the ability to move the loop point in real time while holding down a key allowing you to hear the loop as it's points change in real-time. This greatly speeds up the looping process.

VSTi Mode.

1: Connect your OASYS Rack to your DAW and access all the features of the OASYS direct from your Desktop PC. Full DAW integration.

2: Use this mode to also transfer files from your DAW to your OASYS.

Additional features.
A touch pad has been added to control the OASYS as well as also doubling up as an assignable controller. Assign X & Y aspects of sound design, filters, effects or any required item in the OASYS arsenal.

A Scale Knob has been added to quickly allow you to Zoom In and Zoom out of any mode to allow for fine editing of Audio, midi events and additional features.

Hi Sharp -

That's absolutely gorgeous. Interesting to pose such a design - I wonder if
it might attract interest in Korg.

Now for the knit-picking / suggestions

- where's the 'Touch View' logo

- seen as you have copyrighted it; what might be the chances you have
stopped Korg in their tracks form an imminent, secret release of this exact
design? If that ever go out we'd have to come lynch you for stopping such
a fabulous beast from being released!!

- On a more serious note - would this design benefit from a section that
disconnected from the front aka AKAI's S6000; of from a slopped section
that was adjustable in angle - for realtime performance / control.

Anyway, absolutely beautiful design and rendering - well done. Imagine
one of those coming out in a year or two with 8-Cores and about 1000
note polyphony, hooked up to your computer via the upcoming USB 3
(4.8Gb/s) interface; but with Jazz-mutant screen capabilities and tigt
integration into all of the major DAWS. Now there'd be a monster that
could put Virus TI and Focusrite Liquid outa business.

The more I think about an OASYS rack design, it comes to mind that the ideal solution is rack mount unit but with a remote control surface. This would be immensely practical. That said, the subset of all this that your idea present here is useful also.
